08/08/2003) Gladys Clark Voight, 84, of Austin passed away on Sunday, August 3, 2003. She was born on August 23, 1918, in Prairie Lea, Texas, to Matthew and Marjorie Clark. She will be remembered by her family as a loving wife, mother, grandmother and friend. Gladys was a resident of Austin for 60 years. She devoted much of her life to being a mother and homemaker. Later in life, she was employed by the Austin ISD where she enjoyed being a mother to all the children who passed her way. She retired in 1983 to enjoy being with her grandchildren, travel and be an avid armchair quarterback for the Dallas Cowboys. She was a member of the Hyde Park Church of Christ for 42 years. Gladys was preceded in death by her husband of 61 years, O. R. Voight; granddaughter, Kimberly Voight; her parents and sisters, Juanita McEvoy, Jewel Crook, Jodie Carter, and Myrtle Clark. Gladys is survived by her son, David Voight and wife, Sherryn of San Marcos; son, Jeff Voight and wife, Robbin of Walburg; brother, Fred Clark of Navasota; granddaughters, Kellie Smith, Jasmin Arpin, Emily Voight; and great-grandson, Cameron Smith. The family will receive friends at Cook-Walden/Capital Parks Funeral Home in Pflugerville from 12:00 p.m. to 1:00 p.m. on Saturday, August 9, 2003, followed by services celebrating Glady's life. Inurnment at Cook- Walden/Capital Parks Cemetery will follow services. For those desiring, the family suggests that contributions be made to the Central Texas Childrens Home or charity of choice.
