I am looking for information on Rudolph Vogelsang who was born 9/25/1832 on a small farm near the town of Vogelsang in Canton Aargau, Switzerland. He came to the U.S. at the age of 21 to New York City where he found employment. He was a barrel maker by trade. He also worked as a bricklayer and stone mason. He helped build the New York Central Railroad. He helped to build a railroad station in Toledo, Ohio. He travelled as far west as Joliet, Illinois. He returned to Switzerland in 1860. He soon returned to Bryan, Ohio where he married Anna Meyer in August, 1861. She was from the Brugg area of Switzerland.

Rudolph and Anna had several children. Theodore, William and Mary Anne. Theodore ran away from home in 1875 and was never heard from again. Rudolph died in 1820 in Defiance County, Ohio. William John Vogelsang (later changed name to Vogelsong) was my great- grandfather. Rudolph was my great-great grandfather.
