Adam Volker of ALZENAU; emigrated to NYC in 1848

I am searching for info on John Adam VOLKER or VOELKER who emigrated in 1848 to NYC on the ship Talisman with his wife Maria Susanna (surname unknown) & their four children. John Adam was born ca 1806 in Bavaria & his wife ca 1810. They lived in Alzenau and had (1) Margaret; (2) Catherine (b. ca 1836); (3) James Alphonse* (born Sept. 4, 1841, Alzenau); and (4) Anna (born ca 1844).

Does anyone have any idea about how to find info about their marriage in Alzenau. Maria Susanna's surname has eluded the family for generations and I personally have spent years looking for it. I would be most grateful for any help. Thank you.

*my husband's great-grandfather, the one he is supposed to "take after"
