My grandfather Joseph Vizena changed his name to Visner. He was born September 27,1862, son of George and Elizabeth
He married Willemina Wirtz and they lived in Rochester, N.Y.for several years. He played professional baseball, playing for Baltimore, Brooklyn,Pittsburgh,Washington, and St. Louis in the Major Leagues and for Rochester, and possi-bly other teams in the Minors

He and Willemina had at least nine children: Lorene, Paul,, Marie, Elmer,Lawrence,Frank, Ramona, Margaret (my mother) and Madelinel The family also lived on the White Earth Indian Reservation while Joseph was traveling the country playing baseball.

I am interested in finding out if it was his mother or his grandmother who was the full-blooded Chippewa Indian and how I go about becoming a member of the Dawes Rolls.
