Hi,
I too am a gt gt grandchild of Jacob Vivian 1845-1905, my gt grandmother Annie 1877-1950 married Simon McDonald 1898 and lived and died in Dunedin. I have a large photo of Jacob if you want it, that Annie had hanging in the old house in Gt King St, Dunedin.
I have been searching this family for some time and have made some interesting discoveries. Jacob's father was Joseph, but not Vivian he was Joseph Rowe, they never as far as I can see got married. Jacob had a sister much older Eliza, Mrs Beel. When Eliza got married in 1856, her mother have permission, as she was under age.
I think I have found Eliza's death certificate in 1861, Aged 60 yrs. I have Jacob,s birth certificate 28th June 1845 at St Austell, his mothers name was on the certificate, but not the fathers?
On his sisters marriage certificate Eliza 18yrs, has her father "Joseph Rowe, Miner". "with her mother's consent".
Elizabeth Bennetts 1848-1931 I did manager to find in Cambourne, she was the daughter of Christopher Bennetts 1806-1873 and Elizabeth Hosking 1815-1892.
It would be great to hear from you.
Kind Regards
Allan McLean
