Judge Ignatius Grubb of Delaware met Admiral Walter Hunt-Grubbe on a cruise and the Admiral thought that they shared a John Grubb in Stokes Climsland, Cornwall The Judge in 1893 visited for 2 days at the Grubb Eastwell Mansion in Potterne, Wilts. with the Admiral and his cousin Captain Henry Hunt-Grubb They provided the Judge with a complete pedigree of the Wiltshire, Grubb Family .
The pedigree stated that Thomas the 2nd son of Thomas Grubb Esq. and Susan Hart was the parent of John Grubb who went to Cornwall and which has proven to be correct but then they made a serious mistake. They said he had an MA. From Oxford U. and was a Rector of Cranfield Beds. He was the 4th son of Thomas and Susan Hart. Much too young, had 2 sons but no sons were mentioned in his 1652 Will.
Thomas Grubb Jr. d. 1630, the 2nd son also a Rev. has proven to be the father of the John Grubb, his 2nd son, who went to Cornwall and verifies our Wiltshire ancestry. John was not born in 1610 as the pedigree states but in 1614. Perhaps Thomas had a deceased 1st son he named Thomas as two of his .brothers did
If you have any questions or comments you can reach me at my email address harrietgraham@gmail .com or my daughter Charlene Duval email@example.com As I am 94, she will very soon become our family historian. This research was done for my immediate family but I suddenly realized that I was going to have to explain to the Judge, the Admiral and the Captain why I never shared it with all of you who are still searching for our Wiltshire Cornwall connection.
