Dear Peter,

Perhaps this is a different Ralph and Mary VIVIAN family, but there is a family living in St Austell, Cornwall in 1851 headed by a Ralph VIVIAN, age 48, mine agent, born Calstock, Cornwall and wife, Mary VIVIAN, age 41, born Buckland Monachorum, Devon. Children are George, Betsy, Thomas, Mary Ann, John, Emma J and Eliz H. The oldest child, George, was also born in Buckland Monachorum, Devon.
I found this via

IF you think this could be the same family to which you're referring, maybe the marriage would've occurred in Devon or Calstock. The latter parish has a wonderful genealogical website at and I didn't find the marriage there.

Good luck,
Karen interested in VIVIANs from Camborne, Cornwall
