Oh yea, more confused now. LOL! But I hope to make it clear as mud soon.

POST 2:
Margaret Smith was the daughter of Capt. John Smith and his wife Margaret, who had John Vivion "imported". For that, she received a certificate entitling her to land. The families were friends prior to that.Capt. John Smith and Margaret also had a son named Capt. John Smith who is the one you reference in the deed. (VERY CONFUSING) Garet Minor did marry Diana Vivion. She was the daughter of John Vivion and Margaret Smith. The dates do not match for any of John Vivion's children except one (Charles: no dates) to have been anyones except Margaret.

POST 1:
According to Family History: Virginia Genealogies #1, Capt. John Vivion was in sympathy with a Colonel Bacon as was Diana Cummings, neice of Governor Berkley. Diana kept John posted to as to the plots that were taking place in the Governors palace. The story is quite riveting and after Bacon rebellion subsided, John married Diana and they had a child, Diana who married Garret Minor. Their child John Minor is the great-grandfather of the historian of Frederickburg, Va.- Vivian Minor Fleming. He is the one who furnished this information. There is a book "John Vivion of Virginia" that may be of more help. It was written by: Hulbert Fuller, published by: L.C. Page & Company of Boston. Capt. John Vivion did have a second wife by the name of Christian Briscoe. They were married on Feb. 23,1704.

Apache, here is where I become confused. In your first post you said that John VIVION married Diana CUMMINGS if I am not mistaken. I've heard this before myself on a couple of occasions. (I've taken the liberty to copy these posts in my reply.) And then Diana VIVION married Garrett Minor was the child of of John and Diana. The difference between the two posts are the one was Capt. John VIVION and the other only John VIVION. Alot of this makes sense, but still confused as to who John VIVION married, who was the mother's of the children, et.al.

Thank you so very much for helping me get this stuff straight. I think all my families I research are confusing. I have one family that is so confusing your head hurts after reading the lineage.

Mike
