Margaret Smith was the daughter of Capt. John Smith and his wife Margaret, who had John Vivion "imported". For that, she received a certificate entitling her to land. The families were friends prior to that.Capt. John Smith and Margaret also had a son named Capt. John Smith who is the one you reference in the deed. (VERY CONFUSING) Garet Minor did marry Diana Vivion. She was the daughter of John Vivion and Margaret Smith. The dates do not match for any of John Vivion's children except one (Charles: no dates) to have been anyones except Margaret. If I have confused you even more I am so sorry. I have spent hours upon hours trying to understand all this myself and I finally got it straight.
Thank you.
