You did not say what state these people might be located in but luckily they did show up on the marriage index for Indiana.

Indiana, Perry County:
Josephine Petty married William S. Vitietoe/Vittito (both spellings listed) July 4, 1864. Book 3, Page 166.

There is a listing on the 1850 Census for Daviess County Kentucky (right next to Perry County IN) that is probably your man.

1850 Kentucky, Daviess Co., District #1, Page 416:
Thos. Vititoo, 39yo, Blacksmith, KY
Jane, 23yo, KY
John, 12yo, KY
Mildred, 10yo, KY
Sam'l, 2yo, KY
James, 1/2yo, KY

There is a Josephine Petta listed on the 1860 Indiana Census in Perry County, Tobin Township, Page 15:
David Tate, 61yo, Farmer, KY
Catherine, 46yo, KY
Artemessa?, 19yo, Domestic, KY
Daria, 15yo, Laborer, KY
Josephine Petta, 14yo, KY

Good luck!
