I have since found more information on William Mansel VISICK which seems to rule him out as being your great grandfather's brother:
Parish Registers for Perranarworthal, Cornwall (Film No. 266175) has Miner, Luke VISICK and Mary, his wife of Perran as parents of William Mansel, James and John Henry VISICK who were Baptised on 27th November, 1831 by William SCOTT (No. 966), 4th August, 1833 by Frederie WEBBER (No.1048) and on 7th June, 1835 by H.W.HOCKIN (No. 1143) respectively. In 1835 Luke VISICK's occupation is given as School Master and his abode as Asford (?) Bridge.
There seems to be quite a few Lukes and Williams in my VISICK records that I still have to sort out.I have not as yet, claimed the above William Mansel as being the husband of Mary Louisa KENDALL because of the age difference. He would have been about 68 at the time of his daughter's [Clarice May] birth in 1899 and his wife 30.There may have been a son with the same name of William Mansel[l] VISICK.If so then this rules out Theophilus VISICK as his father.I hope to verify this when the 1901 Census Records become available next year.
Do you know where in Kea your VISICK family lived in the 1851 Census?
Regards
Bernard
