No, Nikki, while there is a town of Weisel on the Rhein river above Koln near the Lorelei, the Visel spelling of the name is widespread around Rottenberg am der Necker, about 70 miles southwest of Stuttgart, in the Swartzwald (Black Forest.) See cousin Patrick Visel's site at

for a listing of our side of the family, who came from there. We are from Remmingsheim, an even smaller town near Rottenberg.
