I am also researching Virtue family. My gr.gr.grandmother was reportedly Nancy Ann Virtue, and she was supposedly from Donegal, Ireland. She married Robert Nelson, in Ireland and with him and one child that we know of moved to Lower Canada (Quebec) in the summer of 1840. We think they settled, as farmers in Richmond Co. perhaps Brompton. I wonder if there is any connection? Have you found out any more on your William Virtue?
