I am searching for any MUDIE's who may link to this line or any of the other MUDIE's who do link to them to see if any of the male born MUDIE's of these family branches have been Ydna tested and if so what is your HaploType?
We/Our own branch of the MOODY (Moodie) family according to our Ydna results link back to the Norwegians and then they settled in Scotland (possibly the Orkney area at some point), and then some branch of them (supposedly ones from Aberdeen, Dunfermline and maybe Ayrshire areas of Scotland) came over to Nor. Ireland during the Presbyterian times of the 1600's.
Our two earliest known MOODY (as the English changed the spelling to our last name in Nor. Ireland but earliest Ballykelly Presbyterian church records in Nor. Ireland clearly show our last name as being spelled MUDIE most often).
Anyway, our two earliest known ancestors were Thomas MOODY (Mudie) b. c1710 in/of Aghadowey, Co. L'derry, Nor. Ireland and his 1st wife Jean McQuiston/McCuiston.
Our 2nd oldest known and proven ancestor is Alexander MOODY (Mudie) b.c1746 and his wife Priscilla DICK of Magilligan, Co. L'derry, Nor. Ireland.
If anyone has info about any of these MUDIE's from Dundee, Scotland to St. Croix.
We only have one MUDIE who has been ydna tested in our Moody group and he did not match to Any Mudie/Moodie/Moody name anywhere so apparently there was what is known as "non-paternal event" within his family.
The Ydna test must be taken by a male MUDIE/Moodie/Moody known to be born of yet another male born MUDIE with a known lineage line to the MUDIE family.
Thank you for any help.
