The Maduro family name is of Saphardic Jewish decent. The name appears in the records of the name St. Thomas Synagouge, and on headstones in the St. Thomas Jewish cemetary. There is a Maduro who was a senator in the VI Senate, and he practices law in St. Thomas. A couple of years ago I was part of the St. Thomas Synagouge that hosted a large group of Maduro and Valle (related) family members on a reunion. There were Maduros from Curacao, NA, the States and I can't recollect where else, but they were a big group.
