Keith,

Yes, your Elzey VIRGIN was the youngest son of Rezin VIRGIN and Jemima ARNOLD. I had long suspected that because a male child of the age to be Elzey was listing in old Rezin's family in the 1790 and 1800 Censuses of Fayette Co., PA.....BUT, I wasn't ready to actually place him as a son of Rezin without further proof.

Then, several years ago, Kathleen Virgin-Kenney of Greenup, KY found a relative who had an old family Bible which stated that Elzey was a son of old Rezin. However, that relative wanted $500 to let her take the Bible to where she could photocopy the page for proof. That was too steep a price, so Kathleen only copied down the information. She did not tell me who that relative was, however. Each year, Kathleen and other descendants of Elzey VIRGIN have a Reunion in Greenup....in July.

The Polly Ann VIRGIN that has been mentioned in some of the VIRGIN messages was his dau. who md. the James DOWNS that you mentioned in one of your messages.

Back in the 1970's, I was in Greenup Co. and walked down the road where all those VIRGIN families lived....and where the old Rezin VIRGIN land was located. We were back again in 1994. Over the years, I've searched many of the records all over the US (including Greenup Co., KY and PA) for the various VIRGIN families and have a great deal of information on them.

I can tell you much about your VIRGIN ancestry back from Elzey. How much do you already have?

Dolores
