I have much information on the two men in your post.William VIRGIN and Sarah WATSON were md. in Nelson Co., KY in 1844.William and and his wf. Sally (formerly WATSON) of Nelson Co., KY deeded "all their claim and interest" in the lands belonging to William VIRGIN & wf. as heirs of James WATSON, dec'd. to Jonathan WATSON on 18 Oct 1847.(Nelson Co., KY Deed Bk. 25, p. 262)
I don't know if this James was Sarah's father or not, but there is a marriage bond record in the Nelson Co., KY records for a James WATSON to marry Nancy COFFMAN, d.o. Christian COFFMAN dated 19 Aug 1796.The "surety" for the bond was George HIRSH.Consent was filed with the bond, but it doesn't say who gave it.The actual bond would do it, however.
The witnesses to the bond were William WATSON and William HUGHS.("Marriage Bonds of Nelson County, Kentucky 1785-1832", Vol. II compiled by Mary Harrel Stancliff--no date of publication given---p. 141)There are a number of WATSON bonds in this book.
Your William & Sarah VIRGIN lived in Graves Co., KY after leaving Nelson Co. and then moved to Washington Co., KY.
The ancestry of William's father, Dorsey VIRGIN who md. Edisai DODSON in Nelson Co., KY is still undetermined to my knowledge although I feel that he must belong to the VIRGIN family that was in Pr. Georges Co., MD by the 1720's.
