Hi Sherry. Yes thomas and william were brothers. in fact william is my dads great great great grandfather. From what i understand. william and his other brothers came over from wales. Joseph went on to Austrailia and i believe Thomas went to canada. william stayed in the us and settled in hollidaysburg Pa. He also brought his daughter Mary ann with him. his wife died in wales. he remairried in hollidaysburg to susan stiteler. their son david richard vipond is my dads great grandfather. He had a son Johnathen Stiteler Vipond Which is my dads Grandfather to his 2nd mairrage to Catherine Austen. I hope this info helps you out.
