Hello Michael
My name is Ian Millican - I live in Sydney, Australia, and am doing (over many years!!!) some research on my family history.
Perhaps you can help me if you are able and have time/inclination???
Many of my Millican ancestors came from around the Alston/Garrigill area, and I noticed recently that according to my records two of them married Viponds.
George Millican (b1752?) married Mary Vipond, and Hannah Millican (b1764?) married Joseph Vipond.
Both George and Hannah were children of Thomas Millican and Alice Allinson (or Ellinson?).
Do these names mean anything to you and if so, do you have any information on them please?
