i recently found a web site with information on the early viponds contained in the Dictionary of National Biography, volumn 1-20,22. there are basically two pages on Robert Vieuxpont, son of William de Vieuxpont. go to:
http://images.ancestry.com/iexec?htx=view&cat=DICTNATBIOG&PATH=20.5.27&ID=032

I have also located the town of Vieux Pont en Auge in France. it is located between D511 and D4 and is 5km east of Saint Pierre Sur Dives. there is a bed and breakfast there and a church that dates back to the tenth century. hope this helps you out.
