Is Caswell also Carson Vinyard

I have long looked for the parents of Carson P Vinyard, B. 1830 in Vinton, Va. I know he married Mary Jane Kefauver and died in 1908, buried in Vinton. I know that in 1850 census there were only 3 "head of family" Vinyard males left in Va. John who is not old enough to be the father. Abraham who has sons Griffen born in 1829 and Charles born in 1832. He does not seem to be Carson's parent. Nicholas' son Caswell P Vinyard is born in 1830. I can not find any mention of Caswell's marriage or death. Carson built a house in 1860 and raised his niece, Margaret Wood there. she is Nicholas's grand daughter. I have also looked at the handwriting for the name Caswell under 200 percent magnification and it could have been Carson. The 2 els are short and could be the points of a n. It appears to be Caswell at 50 percent or 100 percent but bigger is more questionable. Does any one have a spouse for Caswell? I have found a couple of family trees that have the Carson/Caswell connection, but no one has the slightest documentation. Any opinions? More Information? Any Documentation???
