Any Am. Indian history info for Vinsonhaler/Coffman?

Hi,
I'm a Vinsonhaler who has recently started tracing our lineage and have found a lot of information, but nothing about American Indian history (familysearch.org,rootsweb.ancesrty.com).

My grandfather has told me he believes that his grandmother, Hattie Mae Coffman, was a full-blooded Am. Indian. I have found no information on that and most history shows her noted as "White".

My dad is Gregg Lloyd Vinsonhaler; his dad is Donald Vinsonhaler; his dad was Clarence W. Vinsonhaler; his parents were Oliver W. Vinsonhaler (from Henry Turner Vinsonhaler & Elizabeth)& Hattie Mae Vinsonhaler (Coffman). I have found that Hattie's parents lived in the "ghosttown" of McGee, Chickasaw Nation, Indian Territory (per 1900 census). Hattie's parents were James M. Coffman and Temperance Coffman (Petty).

I would really appreciate any American Indian history information shared with me. In return I can maybe answer some questions too.
