Per various researchers, Allen Vinson's first wife was a Garner. Possibly was Elizabeth Garner, daughter of George Washington Garner and Sarah Haney.

Note: In 1819, George W.Garner owned a plantation and tract of land on both sides of Skull Shoals Road along the Pacolet River....Tract of land was part of the estate of John Haney. per JH Garner Genealogy Database @ rootsweb
