Thanks Karolyn. But I got the bad news this morning that I had made a misidentification of my ancestress. Apparently her name was Fanny Vining Collins, not Fanny Vining, so I am barking up the wrong family tree... for the moment. If I can find out if that Vining was reminiscent of Vining ancestry and not just an honorific (can't find any connection with Vinings yet genealogically...but who knows?) then I will be able to use that ID. The families involved seem to all be from Somerset Devon or Wiltshire. All very disappointing, but better to know the truth than not, I say.
