hi i am also looking for a Joseph vincent intrepid patriot of 1837 grandson to Francois Louis Vincent or Joseph Louis Vincent. he is thought to have fled to the states. his history of longueuil we came across the name Vincent. the one most often mentioned is Joseph Vincent, grandson of Francois, a captain of the militia who was of a fighting spirit. . there was a rebellion, in 1837, an ambush was organized, english soldiers were wounded, horses killed and prisoners freed. the head of the rebellion, Louis-Joseph Papineau, fled to the United States and Joseph Vincent also fled. Much later , he was recognized as the "intrepid patriot of 1837".
