Hello Steve
I've really just started out on this, but one thing I do know is that one of my ancestors (Great great grandfather?)was an accomplished bell ringer from Stoke-by-Nayland. My brother does have a newspaper clipping of him winning the title of "Champion Bell Ringer of England". The photo is from around the turn of the 20th Century and from memory he seemed to be in his late 60s at the time of the photo.

I'm new to all of this, my grandfather's name was Arthur Vince, a civil servant who lived in Mill Hill, N London, married to Gladys. Does this tie in with any of your info?

Rgds
Ian Vince
