Joseph H. Villeneuve was a stone mason who was born in Charleston, SC. In 1860 he lived in St James Parish, Chas Co, SC with wife Sara J and children. In 1870 they were in Cheraw, Chesterfield Co, SC (Charlestonians sometimes summered there to avoid malaria). After he died, his wife took their children to live on Main St, Sumter Twp, Sumter Co, SC
Wife's maiden name unknown. Joseph's parents unproven. All help appreciated.
