Hello Joanne
I have just noticed your posting of October 01, 2005
I am the person who sent you the photos you have on your website relating to Job Vile’s house & family.
I noticed this posting I am replying to, started with John D. Vile. As John D. Vile was not the father of Job Vile I then went to your mentioned website
The lineage you have is mixed up through having the wrong parents of Job, Ruth, Catherine, etc. Your website states:
“John D. Vile was born in 1817 atSouth Petherton, Somerset, England to parents Joseph and Harriet. In 1844 John married Ann Foster. Ann was born 1817 in North Curry, Somerset, England”.
I had been given this same information several years ago, to which I had spent considerable time adding several further generations.
I intended putting aside genealogy last year, but before doing so I went back over all my family research, checking out all items that I had not personally verified. I found the John D. Vile and Ann Foster of South Petherton to be the wrong parents of Job and that the correct parents were; John Vile and Ann Foster who were married at Taunton. I consequently dumped the ancestry you are showing of Job, which I had taken several generations further back than shown on your website,
Over several years I have seen many wrong family lineage on the internet and for this reason no longer accept any information as correct unless it can be verified. At least I know that when I unpack my research at some future date, the information will be accurate.
Joanne, you also mention WILLIAM VILE & SOPHIA FOLLETon - http://jo.warby.markingtime.bigpondhosting.com/p74.htmhttp://jo.warby.markingtime.bigpondhosting.com/p74.htm. I do not recall seeing them connected to the Job Vile, buried at Pahiatua, so perhaps you should also check out their records to see how they could be connected.
I had placed a “Genealogy.com”. posting on October 31, 2003 at http://genforum.genealogy.com/vile/messages/8.htmlhttp://genforum.genealogy.com/vile/messages/8.html; in which I had written -
“have so far located Ruth Vile, born 1848, North Curry, Sommerset, England, married Henry Preston at Wellington New Zealand, in 1863. Her parents were: Father, John D. Vile and mother, Ann Foster, both born in 1817, England, and died at Pahiatua, New Zealand”.
So that no persons would copy this inaccurate information I placed a further posting on June 09, 2007 which read:
“For any other researchers that may relate to this posting. The info posted is a mix of two different Vile families.
The mentioned John D. Vile is not the father of the Job Vile who is buried at Pahiatua, NZ”
