Hey Bruce, you appear to be laboring under a lot of info. Angela is absolutely correct and you are wrong. NARA is in the process of rebuilding hundreds of thousands of destroyed or missing files using precisely the documents that Angela referenced. This has nothing to do with the War Library which is a respected agency. I don't know where your info comes from but it appears highly prejudiced. Also, veterans are being advised to send their documents for file rebuilding DIRECTLY to NARA, not to any agency. I have done this and I got a Thank You letter from NARA. Bruce, you should really keep your personal prejudices to yourself. Many vets and their families suffer because of lost or missing records. For you to spread malicious misinformation only increases their suffering. I suppose that if any other agency had made this suggestion of sending documents to NARA, a federal agency, you would approve of it. Leave personal prejudices aside. Stop thinking about your hate and think about vets getting help. This very forum, Genforum, was created for the purpose of helping families to locate info on their military veteran.
