My father Spec 4, Frank John Visser, served with the !st Cav Division- Vietnam 1965-1966. He was also in the 2nd Battalion, 19th Artillery, fired the 105mm howitzers for C Battery.
My Dad first saw combat with the 82nd Airborn Division in Santo Domingo, Dominican Republic, in 1964. He volunteered to join the 1st Cav. Airmobile, and went to Vietnam in August, 1965 aboard the USS Geiger. He went stateside in August of 1966.
