POLL for Vietnam War (in-country) Veterans
POLL LOCATION: http://groups.yahoo.com/group/vietnam-the-longest-war/surveys?id=2901668

Following WW2 most veterans kept themselves physically and mentally qualified for emergency recall. This preparedness by WW2 veterans helped the military to rapidly acquire trained personnel for combat duty in Korea five years after WW2 ended, and duty in non-combat work in intelligence and surveillance throughout the Cold War. Following the Vietnam War barely less than five percent of Vietnam veterans were calculated by the Dept of Defense to be combat or non-combat enabled for emergency service five years after the Vietnam War ended. In the forty years after WW2, DOD calculated that 67% of WWII veterans were fully capable of providing some form of emergency service. However, forty years after Vietnam, DOD calculates that fewer than 2 percent of Vietnam veterans can be called upon to help train and prepare today’s generation for guerrilla level warfare. If you were called upon for emergency assistance today, do you feel you are physically and mentally able to assist? (Anyone who has applied for OR are receiving PTSD compensation is asked not to participate in this Poll.)

This poll closes on 18 September. Poll results will be sent via email to all Forum members.
