I am a Vietnam Veteran and this is one of the many things that happened. We were told not to use excessive force unless under attack. We could not have ammo charged in our weapons unless we were on patrol .We could not use certain weapons because they were called inhumane. We were told we could not take Hamburger Hill,we did. Then we were told to give it back. Do you have any idea who was telling this to us? Not our generals.Think higher. Not the president.Think a little lower.Thats right, it was our congressmen. They are the ones who didn't want us to win the war just like today in Iraq. They want us to pull out when the job is only half done.Yes it might cost a few more lives but that is the hell part of war.
