We must have just missed each other. I was stationed there from 25 March '68to 25 March '69. We worked on F-4's from the Colorado Nat. Guard plus additional aircraft. Mostly F'4's though. Before that I was stationed in Cam Rahn Bay. Now that place sucked. I did not like the shop chief and he did not like me. So when an opening appeared in Phang Rang he told me I should go and I told him likewise I would be happy to go. I had a great time in Phan Rang. Not to mention some great times in the city of Phan Rang. Whew.

Do you remember the temple outside of the base? I remember hiking up to the temple and checking it out. I put my ear to the door and heard the scrambling inside of what sounded like thousands of rats. We never tried to open the door. I took a few photos from up there not to mention all over the place as well.

Cheers,
