Maurine - I'm merely a Vietnam researcher, and did not know Sgt Floyd Daniel Wimer. Based on my records he died of wounds sustained on 1/27/70 while with Charlie Troop, 3rd Squadron, 4th Cavalry of the 25th Infantry Division - and was awarded the Silver Star medal for valor. Obviously, this was an Army Unit, not Air Force. You may want to put a posting about him at the C/3/4 website to see if anyone remembers him and possibly has a picture. http://www.ctrp-3d-4thcav.com. Since this soldier was from Visalia, CA, it's probably a good chance that he may be one of your relatives.
