There may be various reasons why his name isn't listed - but the most common being that he was probably "outside of the war zone" as defined by Congress. He may have been with the USAF in Thailand, for instance. However, the scope of what names can be added have been greatly expanded over the years. See if you can find out what Service Branch he was with, where he was located, and a date of his death.
