Brian, I have talked to my friend and co-worker about your father. Sorry, he did not know him, however, he did give me some information.

Phu Cat had several communication and radar squadrons: 5th Tech Control; 619th Air Tech Sq; 605th Tech Control Sq; 536th Tech Airlift Sq.

Phu Cat was along highway 1 (North-South road) and was near the An Non river. The region had high hills and very flat fields. Ask about the buffalos, the bicycles, motor scooters, the small shops, the smells and odors, the little children that ran around everywhere. These are unique items that trigger memories.

Good luck to your family, SP5 R. C. Higgins, Jr, PMB, Co.A, 173rd Spt Bn, 173rd Abn Bde (Sep) 68-70
