My grandfather, along with his brothers Jose, and Pedro came from Spain in the late 1800s. An uncle or other relation left them a gold mine in the Sierra Madre Mtns of Chihuahua. What is interesting is that my grandfather also had two daugthers whom he named Carmen and Julia. The other children were Miguel, Luis, and Margarita. During his life my grandfather became postmaster general of Chihuahua and he also owned two hotels The Hotel Vidal and The Hotel Frances. He knew Pancho Villa quite well. Margarita had a daugther named Consuelo Vidal who was a movie star and a singer in Mexico during the lane 40s and 50s. There are still many Vidal's in Chihuahua, My father Luis came to the U.S. and stayed.
