Jose Estevan Vidal Rodriguez Montoya 1867-1944

I ifrst heard the name Vidal associated with my family when I recently discovered my maternal great grandfather's birth records. Jose Estevan Vidal Rodriguez Montoya was born on March 19, 1867 in Hidalgo del Parral, Chihuahua, Mexico and baptized in the same town on April 8, 1869.

His parents were Rafael Rodriguez and Mariana Montoya. One or both were born either in Parral, Chihuahua, or Seville, Spain.

At that time it was not popular, or safe to be Spanish born in recently independent Mexico, so they might have concealed their place of birth making them that much harder to trace.

Perhaps one of them was also a Vidal, but it is not recorded.

If anyone has any info on this family in this area kindly contact me.
