VICTORY, Catherine b-1859 d-1951 NYC
I'm looking for the ancestors of Catherine Victory born in Brooklyn, NY abour 1859. Her father was head of what probably was the reservior which stood where the main Brklyn Public library now stands. Her parents were
prob. born in Ireland. They may have had sons and definitely had daughters. One married a man named Hooper or Hopper and settled in Suffern NY. A 2nd wed a man named Paul who had a Polish surname and they lived in FL. with their daughter Claire.Catherine Victory married Peter McGrath (a Brklyn bricklayer) about 1885.They settled in the Flatbush section of Brklyn and raised
6 children Loretta Vosburgh, Catherine (Sr M Theobald, SJ) Mary Curran, Andrew, Dorothy Zangler, and Thomas (who wed Gladys Flynn.) Catherine Victory McGrath died in January 1951 and is buried with her husband Peter in Brooklyn's Holy Cross Cemetery.I need to know the given names of Catherine Victory's parents, her mother's maiden name, and where in Ireland her parents emigrated from.
