Having retired last year I am now concentrating on the Vickrey genology.
My father was Brooks. I believe that makes
us 2nd cousins. My current problem is getting past Solomon David that I show being born in 1835.I have lots of queries andpostings that indicate his father was Absolom
and was killed in the civil war. I have records so far of 35 Vickreys (or spelling variations thereof) in the civil war and no Absolom. I have located Absolom's
in Ark, Ind, Ten, Ala, and Missippi but have yet to tie any of them to Solomon David or his brother John Wesley. I have some data indicating Solomon and John may have another brother. I also have a birth record of Samuel Absolom (some records say Andrew)
born in Red River in 1869. Don't know if there is any tie, but I remember my Grandmother telling me stories about Uncle Sam.Could be William Solomon brother?? I believe this is all heading for the Vickrey's (Vickory's) of North Carolina of
which I have a pretty good history. The only
Absolom(Who's father was Christopher)I find there so far died in 1812 so
that wont fit. When I finish gathering data
I plan some time on the road this year to go
through graveyards, courthouse records, etc etc.Would appreciate any help anyone has.
