Gregg, From the location of the Norcatur Co.KS, I think your Vernons may connect to my Indiana Vernons. My great Aunt Mary McFarland(McFarlane or McFarlin)married Hollingsworth Vernon. They Had seven children and most were married and are buried in Cass County,IN. Some of Mary's sister (Sarah McFarland Bell)'s family settled in Nocatur, and since the Bells lived in the neighboring county of Decatur Co. KS--I'll bet your trace back to my Vernons. Hollingsworth was born in Ohio the son of Jane Hollingsworth and Tom Vernon. There are many Vernons other than Mary's children buried in Cass Co. Mary was Hollingsworth's second wife, and after she died he married two more times in Cass Co. His first wife was Susanna Hood, they had three children--George,Susan and Isaiah. The two sons grew up and are buried with their wives in Cass Co.Mary children were:Nancy Vernon Paisley,Sarah Vernon Daggert,Sanford Vernon, Ira Vernon, Della Mae Vernon Clark,Mary Jane Vernon Hile and one other. Have many Vernon burial and marriage records including some I have not yet connected to from my trip to Cass Co. Would be willing to share what I have,Sincerely, Nancy McFarland
