I have some difficulty with this VERNON family.

My interest is that Charles George VERNON b1873 to John and Esther (HOLLAND) married into my WILLIAMSON family in Stockport.

The problem I have is that I have evidence that the father of Enoch b 1824 was also Enoch b 1785. Others have him as Joseph William.

Certainly an Enoch married Martha BAILEY at Manchester Cathedral in 1803and at the baptism in 1824 his parents are given as Enoch and Martha.

Can anyone explain where the name Joseph William comes from please?
