HOWARD MILTON VERMILLION (ALFONSO RUDOLPHUS6, NICHOLAS5, JOHN4, GILES3, GILES2, GILES1) was born 1876 in
Maryland, and died 13 Jun 1926 in Washington DC. He married MINNIE SINCLAIR COOK Abt. 1900 in Unknown, daughter
of HAMILTON COOK. She was born 1874 in Unknown, and died 1917 in Unknown.

He died suddenly, Monday 11 Jan. 1926 at 6:45 AM, after a short illness of High Blood Pressure at Walter Reed Army
Hospital. He was a Detective Sargent for more than 18 years, Washington D.C. Police Department. He resided at 240 8th
Street, NE and was laid to rest at Congressional Cemetery. He belonged to Camp #2, United Spanish War Veterans and was
a brother Mason.
A veteran of the Spanish-American War, he participated in the siege and capture of Santiago Cuba. He had accumulated a
number of commendations while a detective, including the capture of thieves who had been robbing the Army Medical
Museum of rare and valuable exipit specimens in 1908. He was survived by his second wife of 5 years, Lillian C.
Vermillion and 2 sons, Milton E. and Lawrence B. Vermillion, from his first marriage.
