Looking for connection with Giles

Basically, I am interested in fitting my immediate family into the greater Vermillion lineage. I was able to find my great Grandparents using my Grandfather's older brother's (John Jr) info from the Kansas legislature website, but this is as far back as I can go now. I would appreciate any insight or advice in expanding beyond what I have now.

Below is a partial tree from me back to John Sr.:

John Vermillion Sr (b abt 1891) + Mabel Vermillion (b Oct 30, 1892) > Lived in Independence, Montgomery, KS
- John Vermillion Jr (b 1922) > Kansas Congressman 1957-1980
- George H Vermillion (b 1925) + Barbara Hoffman Vermillion (b 1924)
-- David H Vermillion
-- Deborah Vermillion
-- Douglas Boyd Vermillion
--- Sean Douglas Vermillion (Me)
- Unknown younger brothers

Also, I found a Vermillion family crest while cleaning out my Grandparents' house today and it looked fairly old. The shield is split into 4 different fields, if that is the correct term. The upper left is red with a windmill; the upper right is green with 2 S-shaped snakes facing away from each other; the lower left is yellow with 2 black birds (crows?); the lower right is blue with a horizontal, silver, wavy bar. I just was wondering if this matched anything anyone else had. The crests I found online didn't match this at all.
