John Wygal Vermillion was born in Pulaski County VA to Uriah V and Susan Mildred Wygal, on 29 Feb 1852. He came to TX in 1870 and married Mary Elizabeth Stone 5 Nov 1876 in Cooke County TX. They had 8 children: John Floyd V, 13 Feb 1879-22 Oct 1879, Leon Hamilton V, 29 Feb 1880-29 Nov 1932, Maggie Myrtle 31 Jan 1882-24 Oct 1922, Johnnie May 12 May 1883-30 Jun 1965, Carroll Stone 8 Sep 1887-8 Feb 1960, Sallie Barrow 24 Feb 1889-30 Jul 1981, Mattie Watson (Lizzie, also called Babe) 23 Jun 1891-6 Oct 1971, Evangeline 7 Aug 1895-5 Feb 1968. MES died 16 Nov 1911. They are both buried at Holy Cross Cemetery in Corpus Christi TX. JWV married Mrs Mary Bailey in 1912, she died 1919. He married Mrs Callie (nee Keese?) Williamson 1922. He received his M.D. and Pharmacist degrees (Dr of Pharmacy?) from Alabama in 1882/3. He practiced medicine and was part owner of a drug store in McDade TX for 20 yrs, moved to Silverton TX, then Texhoma OK, then San Benito TX, then Sinton TX where he lived the last nearly 12 yrs of his life. Would very much like to share information on this particular Vermillion line.
