Robert,
If your George H. Vermillion was born 1833 and married Elizabeth A. Griffen on May 27, 1856, then his parents would have been John W. (b. abt. 1787) and Phebe E. (Webster-b. abt. 1793) Vermillion.
John W. Vermillion was the son of Jacob (b. 1751) and Chloe (Hanson-b. ??) Vermillion. John W. was born in Maryland, most likely in Prince George's County.
Jacob Vermillion was the son of Giles Vermillion Jr. (b. 1708 in Prince George's Co., MD) and his wife Sarah ????.
Giles Vermillion Jr. was born in Prince George's County, MD, the son of Giles Sr. (b. abt. 1685) and Jane (Hutchison-b. abt. 1686) Vermillion. The birth places of both Giles Sr. and Jane are disputed, but many say Giles was born in Wales and Jane in Scotland. That is as far back as the Vermillion family traces.
Let me know if you need more information.
