Obviously, there is little about the marriage of James and Mary and I have no record of any children born to that marriage. I can give you a trace on James' ancestry if you wish.

James Harvey Vermillion (b. April 23, 1831 in Montgomery Co., VA)
son of Reason Vermillion (b. 1788 Dublin, VA) and Amelia Woods Boyd (b. 1800 Wythe Co., VA) who were married Dec. 25, 1817 in Wythe Co., VA.
Children of Reason and Amelia were:
C1. Edward Reason b. 1821
C2. John Houston b. Dec. 6, 1822
C3. Uriah b. Oct. 9, 1824
C4. Thomas Boyd b. 1829
C5. James Harvey b. April 23, 1831
C6. Mary A. b. 1834
C7. Sarah E. b. 1836
C8. Robert Aiken b. Oct. 2, 1838
(Possibly a ninth child was born after 1838 named Thomas P., but I've never been able to verify that birth)

Reason Vermillion b. 1788 was the son of Uriah Vermillion (b. Oct. 31, 1761) and Susannah Barker (b. 1762).
Uriah was the son of Robert Francis Vermillion (b. 1725) and Elizabeth Birch.
Robert Francis Vermillion was the son of Giles Vermillion Sr. (b. 1685) and Jane Hutchison (b. 1686).

That is as far back as the Vermillion family traces.
I hope this has been helpful. If you wish further details, please e-mail me at d.vermillion@insightbb.com
