Some Vermillion allied families c 1720 to 1850

Lewis Wilburn appears in the Claiborne Co TN tax list in 1833. Living next to him is John Vermillion. From that era nearest neighbors tended also to be kin of some sort. So I set out to see if I could find any connection between John Vermillion and/or his kin and the Wilburn family and or their kin. At best, I can only say that I have come uncovered some clues re: this mystery but certainly cannot claim that I know exactly how Wilburns and Vermillions are related. (Marriage records in Claiborne Co TN are extremely limited until c 1845.)However, many of the Vermillion families are related or appear to be related to other families that I have in my database.

I have no idea if this is useful information or not. But here are some of the surnames that I collected that represent people who married into various Vermillion families. Sometimes more than once or twice too. I will indicate how many times I find Vermillions married to people with same surnames.

Surnames of those who married into Vermillion line. (c 1720 to 1850)

1. Birch (two)
2. Burks
3. Barker
4. Brown
5. Browning
6. Campbell (two)
7. Compston (two)
7. Dunlap

17. Roberts
18 Rucker
19. Stovall (two)

If any of these surnames fit into your family and you wish additonal information or what information to share, please let me know.

Cheers,

Vikky
