I probably have a Vermillion gr-gr-gr-gr-grandmother, but not sure who. My grandmother did some research and thought my gr-gr-gr-grandfather was a Rezin or Reason Powell, born 1798, and that his father was Henry Powell, b. unknown, and his mother had the surname Vermillion, birth unknown. (I'm not sure where my grandma got this information, but it was a long time ago, back in the 1960s or earlier, so she sure didn't get it off the internet!) However, confusingly, a Powell geneology website identifies my gr-gr-gr-grandfather as Reason A. Powell, b. 1811, son of Pricey Vermillion (b. before 1794 in W. Virginia, daughter of Uriah Vermillion and Susanna Barker) and Henry Powell b. 1785. Does anyone know of a female Vermillion who married a Rezin/Reason Powell b. 1798, in other words were there two different Reason Powell/Vermillion couples, or did my grandma get the dates wrong for Reason Powell? Any help appreciated.
