I am interested in your Nicodemus Vermillion and Malinda Evans. I am both a Vermillion and an Evans descendent and am curious if they are part of my two families. I am gradually piecing together my ancestry with documents I have acquired, census records, and communication with Richard Vermillion in CO.
My earliest known Vermillion grandparents are Wm. VERMILLION (b. 1815 TN) and Catherine BROWN (b. 1823 KY)
They were in:
Lawrence Co., OH 1850
Johnson Co., KY 1860
Lawrence Co., KY 1870 (Only Catherine "Katherine" this
Logan Co., WV 1880
Based on some info I received from Richard Vermillion today, about a Nicodemus, I am wondering if it is the same one you are referring to here. This Nicodemus was a brother of Richard Vermillion's GG-grandfather, John Vermillion, who is living next door to my Wm. Vermillion in the 1850 Lawrence Co., OH census.
My earliest proven EVANS line is Hastings EVANS and Lucy WILLINGTON m. 10 Feb 1800 in Louisa Co., VA. Their Great granddaughter, Sarah RUNYON (dtr. of Julia Ann EVANS and Greenville RUNYON) m. Richard VERMILLION 27 Mar 1879 in Martin Co., KY. Richard was the son of Wm. and Catherine Brown Vermillion listed above, and was my GGgrandfather.
I am hoping to find Wm. Vermillion's parents.Any help you can offer will be greatly appreciated. Please feel free to email me at BrightStarRN1@aol.com
